Mediterranean Fig: Growing Faith Beyond the Leaves

I know that silence feels heavier than failure sometimes. You’re praying, forgiving, working hard, showing up with faith and love every single day, but nothing seems to move. You keep pouring yourself out, holding on for a breakthrough, and all you get is quiet. And in that quiet, it’s easy to wonder… Did I miss something? Am I doing something wrong? Maybe you even feel like that fig tree Yahushua saw, full of leaves but no fruit.

Mark 11:13—14 says, “And seeing a fig tree with leaves, He went to see if He’d find fruit. But He found none… and said, ‘Let no one eat fruit from you ever again."

Here’s what most people don’t know: fig trees grow fruit before they grow leaves. So if the leaves are showing, fruit should already be there. When Yahushua walked up to that tree, it looked like it had something to offer, but it didn’t. From a distance, it gave the impression of life. Up close, it was just leaves. No substance. No fruit.

Sometimes, we do the same. We smile through the struggle. We show up looking whole when we’re hurting. We post like we’re thriving when we’re barely making it. And the truth is, we often know what our Father is asking of us but still go our own way. We hide behind the image, hoping no one sees the struggle. But I want you to know, He sees you. Not the version you try to be, the real you. And He’s not done. Even now, He can grow fruit from a willing heart.

You are not that tree.

You’re not fruitless. You’re not forgotten. And you are not failing. You’re being pruned. John 15:2 says that every branch that does bear fruit gets pruned so it can bear more. And pruning? It’s not gentle. It’s uncomfortable. It feels like being passed over, misunderstood, or stretched too thin. It feels like silence when you’re desperate for answers. But it’s not rejection. He’s cutting back what can’t stay so what must grow can thrive.

That quiet you feel right now, it’s your roots going deeper. You’re not buried. You’re being grounded.

Just because you’re hidden doesn’t mean you’re overlooked. He sees you. He’s doing something real in you, not for the crowd, but for your soul. You might not see fruit yet, but don’t overlook what’s happening underneath. Your character is maturing. Your obedience is growing. Your resilience is being refined. And that’s where fruit begins.

Deuteronomy 28 tells us blessings chase after those who walk in obedience. So don’t despise the slow seasons. Habakkuk 2:2 says, “Write the vision and make it plain.” Keep holding onto the vision, even if your timeline doesn’t match the world’s. Don’t fake the fruit. Don’t dress your life in leaves to impress people. Let yourself be real, rooted, and ready.

Because when your season shifts, and it will, the fruit you bear won’t just prove you survived. It’ll nourish others. It’ll confirm the pruning had purpose. It’ll reveal that the quiet was never empty.

Ask yourself this: when the time comes, will your life look full from afar but empty up close? Matthew 7:16 says, “You will know them by their fruit.” The world might applaud your leaves, but He is looking for figs.

You’ve heard the saying, “The proof is in the pudding,” right? Well, it is. And the proof isn’t just that you’re still standing; it’s that something deeper is growing in you.

If you’re still questioning whether He’s with you, I get it. I’ve been there. That silence can feel like distance. But most of His work doesn’t come with lightning or noise. It’s more like a flower that opens before the sun is even up. Or a child who outgrows overnight. You don’t always see the change… but it happens.

His presence is steady. Quiet, but never absent.

You want proof He’s near? Look at what’s still standing. Look at your heart, still beating. Your spirit, still reaching. Your strength, still showing up when everything in you wants to quit.

That’s fruit. That’s proof.

So stop searching for signs in the sky. Look at what’s growing in you.

Just like the seed doesn’t question the sun, it just grows.

And the sun doesn’t question its Creator, it just obeys.

And so should you.

This… is the inspiration behind our Mediterranean Fig Collection.
