Warm Vanilla Coconut Creme: (Obedience).

Obedience isn’t something most people want to talk about. Not because it doesn’t matter, but because deep down, we know what it really requires. It’s more than just doing the right thing. It means letting go of our comfort, our plans, our pride, and the illusion that we’re in control. And let’s be real; that’s hard. Obedience shows up in those quiet, uncomfortable moments when what we want doesn’t line up with what YHWH is asking.

Obedience begins where comfort ends. When YHWH says, "Let it go," and everything in you wants to hold on. Maybe it’s a relationship. Maybe it’s a job. Maybe it’s the version of life you thought you’d have by now. It can feel like a silent battle; faith vs. fear.

Sometimes obedience means staying when you want to run,

Biting your tongue when you’d rather speak your mind. Forgiving without an apology, or trusting without a plan. It’s moving forward with no answers, smiling through tears, and choosing His way over your own.

“If ye love Me, keep My commandments.” That’s John 14:15. The Messiah obeyed all the way to the end. He never asked us to do anything He didn’t do Himself. His obedience was proof of His love. Ours is, too.

“To obey is better than sacrifice…” That’s 1 Samuel 15:22. This isn’t about working harder to earn YHWH’s love. It’s about choosing His way over our own, just because we love Him.

Even creation obeys Him. The wind knows when to blow. The trees know when it’s time to let go. The birds migrate, the ocean stays in place, the sun rises and sets, and the moon reflects light right on time. All respond to His command. But we, formed by His hands, created in His image, hesitate. Why? Are we afraid of losing; a false sense of control, comfort, or is it just pride? If all creation trusts Him… why don’t we?

Disobedience has consequences. Proverbs 14:12 reminds us: "There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death". Obedience is the narrow path that leads to life.

There were times I obeyed and nothing changed. Just silence. And I wondered, “Did I get it wrong?” But now I can see it wasn’t punishment. It was preparation. He was anchoring me. Tearing down things that couldn’t stay, so He could build what would last. That quiet season? It had a purpose. It was necessary.

Are you willing to obey the One who made everything? Because real obedience will stretch you. It’ll test you. But it’ll also bring you closer to Him than comfort ever could. And the peace that follows? The world can’t give you anything like it. YHWH honors that kind of trust.

They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result. And yet, how often do we do just that? Chase the same broken dreams. Try to fix things our own way. Hope this time it’ll finally work. But maybe change won’t come through more effort, but through surrender. Trusting the One who is the beginning and the end. “I am the Beginning and End,” says YHWH, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Rev 1:8

Why keep carrying a weight you were never meant to hold? Why keep turning away from the peace that comes when you finally give it all to Him; your fears, your plans, your heart? True surrender is trusting when it doesn’t make sense. Resting when you can’t see the way. Still moving forward because you know He’s leading you.

That kind of obedience is wisdom. It’s what breaks the cycle of insanity.

At eScential S.O.Y., we strive to live a journey rooted in obedience; seeking to follow His lead, create with purpose, and trust that every step we surrender to Him will bear fruit in due season.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by YHWH…” Psalm 37:23. If the Creator of everything wants to guide your steps, why not let Him? Why keep trying to figure it all out on your own? How many wrong turns, closed doors, and dead ends will it take before you trust the One who sees the whole road?

This… is the inspiration behind our Warm Vanilla Coconut Crème Collection.
